Published in February 2009 "S.S. Leviathan: America's First Superliner" has been 3 years in the making.  Published by The History Press it has 120 pages with over 250 photos. Appendices are included that list passenger carryings and speed data for this great ship. It is the author's opinion that the Leviathan has not been given her proper due in many ocean liner books over the years. (Some ignore her or describe her as a "white elephant") She was a very popular and beloved vessel. She made many important contributions to the American Merchant Marine that laid the groundwork for the S.S. America and the superliner S.S. United States. Here, in the author's first book, her story is told with never before published photos and information.

S.S. Leviathan-America's First Superliner Book Corrections

Page 23, paragraph 2, line 7: It should say full "astern" instead of full "ahead". (I am not sure how that mistake got in there!)

Page 112, paragraph 3, line 5: It should say average "passengers" per crossing instead of "passenger."

Best Wishes!
